Trouble shooting in Broadband (Dataone)






691.678,651,635,815  broadband errors and poor DSL stability NO WORRIES here you find easy solutions.Now a days Broad Band is widely used for various purposes like ticket booking,online chating,online shopping  etc.No one can imagine life without internet.Therefore i tried to provide some useful solutions for smooth working of internet.

Most of us use broad band in ALWAYS ON i.e PPPoE mode.It is basically required when we want to connect more than one computer at a time.Where as in bridge mode it is not possible.Now let's talk about some problems which we generally face while using broad band;

No DSL also named as ADSL,LINK stability.It is basically due to the following reasons

1.Noisy telephone line
2.Wrong splitter connection
3.Modem faulty
4.RJ11(telephone cord) coming from splitter connected at RJ45 located at backside of modem
5.RJ11(telephone cord) coming from splitter connected at VOIP point located at backside of modem
6.NO DSL from exchange end

Now here are the solutions for above said problems

1.In case of noisy line contact the ISP(internet sevice provider)
2.In case of wrong splitter connection connect the ADSL or MODEM cord to modem, Phone cord to telephone set and LINE point must be connected to the cable or drop wire coming from outside of your home
3.In case of modem faulty replace the modem
4.Connect the RJ11 cord coming from splitter to RJ11 point located at backside of modem
5.Connect the RJ11 cord coming from splitter to DSL point located at backside of modem
6.In case of no DSL from exchange end contact the ISP

Causes of Poor DSL stability

1. Noisy Line
2. Telephone sets connected in parallel
3. Faulty underground wiring
4. Faulty Splitter
5. Modem Faulty

Remedies Of Poor DSL stability

1. In case of noisy line contact the ISP
2. Disconnect the telephone sets connected in parallel.Use only one telephone set connected through splitter.
3. Always Use open telephone wiring and see the difference
4. Replace the faulty splitter
5. Replace the faulty modem

For better DSL stability save the splitter from moisture

In case your modem is set to PPPoE/always ON mode and your browser shows page cannot be displayed do the following practices

1. Check DSL(ADSL,LINK) is stable on your modem.
2. If stable Check DATA or INTERNET light is available on your modem.
3. If DATA or INTERNET light is available Check LAN IP addresses

In case of windows XP click on start button,then click on CONTROL PANEL now open NETWORK CONNECTIONS now double click on local area connection now click on properties now double click on internet protocol (TCP/IP) now select use the following ip addreses and type ip addresses as
IP address                                  192.168.1.7
Subnet Mask                             255.255.255.0
Default Gateway                       192.168.1.1
Preferred DNS server              218.248.255.194   In case of BSNL customer
Alternate DNS server              218.248.255.146   In case of BSNL customer
Now click on OK button, again press OK and finally press CLOSE button.

In case of windows7 click on start button >> control panel >> network and sharing center >> change adapter settings >> local area connection >> properties >> internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) >> select use the following IP addresses and type above mentioned IP addresses.Now your internet will start working.

4. Check LAN(local area connection) is enabled. To check LAN status in case of WINDOWS XP go to start button >> control panel >> network connections >> local area connection. In case LAN is disabled just double click on local area connection it will become enabled.

In case of WINDOWS 7 go to start button >> control panel >> network and sharing center >> change adaptor settings >> local area connection.

5. Your telephone bill will be pending.

NOW i would like to talk about broadband errors with HASSLE FREE solutions

691 ERROR    :  In valid username or password on the domain. It is a most commonly error in broadband.

SOLUTIONS  :  Retype your broadband user name and password. It will get connected. If problem still persist check your broadband bill is PAID if paid contact your ISP.
                            
678 OR 651 ERROR    :  The remote computer did not respond in case of windows XP(678 error) and the modem or other connecting device is not responding in case of WINDOWS 7(651 error)
            
SOLUTIONS  : 1. Check DSL or ADSL or LINK is stable on your modem
                          2. Check LAN is properly connected in case wired modem.To check proper connectivity Go to start button then click on RUN now you will see a smallwindow here you type
                           
                              ping 192.168.1.1 -t and press enter here you see a reply like reply from 192.168.1.1:
                bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128 and same on.
                          3. If reply is OK check your modem configuration your modem may revert to factory settings.
                             
                          4. If settings are OK ask your ISP to reset/change your broadband port.

CONFIGURATION OF  BSNL TERACOM MODEM PLUS ROUTER MODEL NO.T2-B-Gawv1.4U10y-B1 AND SYRMA MODEM PLUS ROUTER MODEL NO. AR800V

Open any browser and on address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter here you will see a small window
which demand USER NAME and PASSWORD

User Name: admin   ,   Password: admin
Now a new window will open here click on configuration

Now click on internet connections and following window will appear

click on edit button provided against vpi 0 and vci 35in case of BSNL  now press next button again next select obtain ip address automatically,select enable NAT and add default route press next button type your user name and password provided by your ISP as shown in following window

and press next button now press apply button. Now go to admin button provided on left side then press reboot as shown in following window

 select reboot from LAST and press REBOOT button
 ONE IMPORTANT SUGGESTION NEVER FORGET TO SECURE YOUR WIRELESS CONNECTION
For wireless security in case of SYRMA and TERACOM WIFI MODEM
Open any browser and on address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter here you will see a small window
which demand USER NAME and PASSWORD
User Name: admin   ,   Password: admin
Now a new window will open here click on configuration>>wireless network go to security settings select security option as wi fi protected access 2 now select encryption protocol as AES-CCMP protocol select authentication method as PSK(Pre shared Key) now type your desired password in WPA PASSPHARSE it should minimum eight character now press CONFIRM button .Now your wireless is fully secured.
 While surfing yahoomail.com or facebook.com on MOZILLA FIREFOX if a window appeared with message repeatedly This connection is untrusted just update your computer's date and year & message will disappear.

While connecting to your wifi modem router you may see a message on your window that windows is unable to connect.This means that someone from your family member have changed the password in wifi router settings.First ask your family members about new password then open network and sharing centre(in case of windows 7 and 8) go to manage wireless network connections here you will find your wireless network,remove this connection and connect your wireless network it will demand security code just type here new password now it will get connected.
